Advantages of Fumunda Pingers

Significant Cost Benefits

Fumunda Pingers cost significantly less than most of our competitor's both initially and over time.

incredible cost benefits

What does this graph tell us?

It shows that every two years a customer needs to replace the Fumunda Pinger battery at a cost of approx 10 euros per battery.

Pingers that are not designed with replaceable batteries must be discarded and replaced with a new Pinger every two years some costing approximately 120 euros.

This graph does not include labour costs incurred with taking our competitors Pingers off your nets, returning them to the seller, re attaching them to the net!

Fumunda Pingers stay on the net - you simply unscrew the Pinger ends and replace the battery. Simple!

Replaceable Batteries

We understand that time and labour plays a significant role in commercial fishing, hence we designed the Fumunda Pinger with a replaceable battery meaning minimal time is wasted. Costs savings using Fumunda Pingers are therefore further enhanced.

Meets Regulations

Fumunda Pingers meet both the European Union EC code 812/2004 and the USA NMFS regulations.

Light

Fumunda Pingers are the lightest, smallest and most durable Pingers available in the market today.

(see Pinger Design)

The compact size and weight, 210g (less than half the weight of most competitor products) ensures Fumunda Pingers do not 'sink' or collapse nets when fishing.

Because they are light weight Fumunda Pingers have the least effect on net shape and fish better than competitor products.

Durable

The outer casing is made of incredibly durable and slippery co polymer (often used for anchor chain rollers on commercial boats).

Our CNC machined Pingers have been designed to withstand years of extreme on board conditions.

Micron-perfect Construction

Fumund's unique manufacturing process uses CNC (computer numeric control) machines to 'cut' our Pinger cases from solid co polymer rod.

Other Pinger manufacturers use injection moulded or cast chassis. These methods are vastly inferior to CNC machining in terms of both strength and durability.

Designed for Extreme Conditions

Fumunda Pingers are designed for extreme working conditions. The electronics are 'potted' in epoxy resin to protect the electronics from intense shock and impact resulting in excellent reliability.

No need for Testing Equipment

The operational frequency and pressure level of 10 kHz and 132 dB is audible to most humans. This eliminates the need to purchase and carry additional testing equipment which is necessary with many of our competitor products.

When Fumunda Pingers are removed from the water they continue to 'ping' for two minutes before they turn off, so fishermen and observers can easily confirm operational status.

Audibility also makes an observer's job much less likely to interfere with fishing operations.

Lanyard Design

Fumunda's lanyard design allows for Pingers to be served to float or headlines.

This eliminates the unsafe practice of removing and replacing Pingers during setting and hauling operations.
