How Fumunda Pingers work

sustainable fishing practices that protect dolphins, porpoises, turtles, seals and other marine mammalsNumerous independent scientific studies performed around the world over the past twenty years on different species and populations of Dolphins and Porpoises confirm that Pingers are over 90% effective in reducing Dolphin and Porpoise by-catch in commercial net fishing practices.

Fumunda Pingers work by emitting a 10 kHz signal known to be audible to Dolphins and Porpoises.

When Pingers are placed on nets, Dolphins and Porpoises are alerted to the presence of the net.

The Fumunda Pinger is specifically designed to operate at 10 kHz which is the frequency with the longest track record of any signal for reducing Dolphin and Porpoise by-catch.
